As we mark the 25th anniversary of the Ontario Student Trustees’ Association (OSTA), we also reflect on one of our most significant contributions to the student community: the Ontario Student Voice Awards (OSVAs). These awards, given annually to outstanding graduating Grade 12 students across Ontario, are our way of recognizing and celebrating the exceptional efforts of those who go above and beyond in their schools and communities.

The OSVAs are more than just scholarships; they are a testament to the passion, dedication, and leadership that Ontario’s students bring to issues that matter most to them. Each award, typically valued at $1,000 CAD, acknowledges students who have shown remarkable commitment to justice, environmental stewardship, the arts, entrepreneurial innovation, sports leadership, and amplifying student voices. These are students who are not just excelling academically but are also making a tangible impact in their communities.

Unfortunately, due to financial constraints, the OSVAs have not been awarded in the last two years. However, as we gather to celebrate this milestone anniversary, we have the unique opportunity to ensure that these awards continue to inspire and support the next generation of leaders.
